A Japanese whisky distillery originally founded in 1985 by Hombo Shuzo Co. It was initially only operational for seven years, however rising demand for the company's Mars blends in the 21st century inspired it to re-open the the site in 2011. Mars Maltage Komagatake 10 years is a blended pure malt from Shinshu distillery, meaning that this whisky does not consist of any grain whisky. It is distilled at the highest operational distillery in Japan, located in Miyata village in Nagano prefecture at 798 meters above sea level, where the distillery's cool climate and pure water sources contribute to the high standards of Komagatake's whisky. The whiskies are aged in sherry, brandy and bourbon casks.
