Description

This is a 34-year-old Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Ladyburn distillery, independently bottled by Signatory Vintage as part of their Cask Strength Collection. Distilled in 1975 and bottled in 2009, it was matured in a Bourbon Barrel, cask number 558. Ladyburn, also known as Rare Ayrshire, was a short-lived distillery that operated from 1966-1975, making its single malt releases quite rare. This release is non-chillfiltered and comes with a tin box.

Nose
apple and citrus aromas. Mixed with some slightly sour / musty oak, you get a very light and vibrant profile. Soft nutty notes. Mint. A hint of pepper.
Palate
starts spicy and slightly malty (fresh bread) before getting fresher and more vibrant with lemon and lemon balm. Quite sweet (pink grapefruit, a little pineapple). Nice development with clear oak which works nicely here. Again a soft nuttiness.
Finish
half fruity, half grassy. Not too oaky.
