Description
This is an extremely rare 12 year old Lagavulin single malt, bottled in the 1970s by White Horse Distillers. It represents Lagavulin's classic Islay style with deep peat smoke, coastal salinity, and a rounded, oily richness, predating the modern Classic Malts era. The whisky was distilled during the distillery's White Horse era, likely in the mid-late 1960s, a time of on-site floor maltings and a more hands-on approach to production. This bottling is highly sought after by collectors and is regarded as a benchmark for the distillery.
