Description

This Lagg Small Batch Palo Cortado is a heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky from the Lagg Distillery on the Isle of Arran. It was initially matured in ex-Bourbon barrels and then finished for 6 months in rare ex-Palo Cortado Sherry casks. Bottled at cask strength of 56.2% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and has natural color, with a declared peat level of 50 ppm. This limited edition release marks the first Lagg Small Batch available for global markets.

Oily mouthfeel, with a good pinch of salt, a touch of rubber, minerality, peat smoke, leather, orange pith, toffee, black pepper, and baking spices like ginger and cinnamon. Rich, oily, citrus, and salty.
Finish
Medium to long length, with wood smoke, damp oak, cloves, roasted nuts, dried fruit, maritime salt, oak spice, orange, ginger, and a dry, ashy finish.
