Description

Laphroaig was founded in 1815 by two brothers from the Johnston family on the south coast of Islay. The name loosely translates to the 'broad hollow by the bay'. In 1994 the Prince of Wales awarded it the Royal Warrant. This 10 year old expression celebrates the distillery's 200th anniversary in 2015. It is known for its pungent, heavily peated single malt character.

Complex, smoky character, heavy aromas of peat and oak, lighter fruity edge of pineapple and vanilla, black pepper and peat against sweet white chocolate and citrus notes, surprising sweetness, hints of salt, layers of peatiness, licorice roots, drying peppers, apple, charred oak and barley.

Long, delicate and complex, lingering, sweet seaweed afterglow, smoke, salty sea breeze, copper, earthy, tropical fruits.
