Description

This festival edition 21 year old Islay single malt was distilled at Laphroaig and bottled for The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, under society cask number 29.211, in celebration of the spectacular Feis Ile in 2017. It was matured for 20 years in an ex-Bourbon barrel and finished for one final year in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry hogshead. This is one of only 228 bottles.

Peat smoke, fresh sea air, with light tones of dried fruit. Oak aromas are very noticeable. After sitting, the nose becomes sweeter.
Palate
Rich, thick mouthfeel. Much sweeter than the nose suggested. Bright fruits and syrup meld with meaty, smokey flavors.
Finish
Long, warm finish of spice, peat smoke, and oak.
