Nose
Heavily peated smoke, iodine, and maritime notes are prominent, often accompanied by sweeter aromas of vanilla, coconut, banana, and citrus. Hints of burning embers, freshly sawn wood, and sometimes medicinal or asphalt notes are also detected.
Palate
Deep, complex, and smoky, balanced by a surprising sweetness. Flavors include malt sweetness, honey, oak spices, pepper, and dried fruit, with the peat smoke building towards the finish. Medicinal, ashy, and sometimes fizzy or salty notes are also present, alongside vanilla, ginger, and chili peppers.
Finish
Long, drying, and smoky, with a lingering char and oak echo. Notes of dark chocolate, coffee bitters, burnt herbs, and sometimes a cold ashtray or ground coffee are observed, often alternating between sweetness and smoke.
