Description

A 45-year-old blended Scotch whisky made from malt and grain whiskies from approximately 40 distilleries, all distilled in 1971. It underwent triple maturation through bourbon, sherry and bourbon casks before being bottled by The Last Drop in 2017 as its 10th release, with an outturn of 1,352 bottles.

Nose
Sweet honey and vanilla give way to tangy orange and lemon followed by warmer notes of stewed apple and toasted almonds. The nose keeps evolving and a hint of coffee appears, quickly followed by candied orange.
Palate
Very pleasant fruity sweetness, followed by a crisp orange and lemon tang, a hint of freshly cut oak, and a classic old-fashioned smokiness.
Finish
Chocolate orange and baked fruits with a lingering suggestion of orris root and smoke.
