Description
The original religious buildings at Lindores Abbey near Newburgh, Fife were founded by the Earl of Huntingdon in the late 12th century and they were once frequented by kings and queens. Current owners, the Mackenzie Smiths had historical reasoning behind their decision to build a distillery at the site in 2016 as it is claimed that the first written reference to Scottish whisky production relates to Friar John Cor in 1494. This is the Friar John Cor Cask Strength Congregation Chapter 1 Distillery Exclusive, matured in a blend of Bourbon, Monbazillac, STR, and Sherry casks, bottled at 49.4% ABV without chill filtration.
