Description

Signatory was founded by Andrew Symington in 1988. After discovering single cask single malt whisky while managing Prestonfield House Hotel, Andrew bought his first cask, a Glenlivet 1968, and is now one of the largest independent bottlers in Scotland. As of 2002, Signatory Vintage Whisky company became the owner of the Edradour distillery in Perthshire. This Linkwood was matured in a 1st Fill Bourbon Barrel and is part of Signatory Vintage's 'Bourbon Cask Series', available exclusively at The Whisky Exchange.

Nose
A mixture of citrus fruits with bright apple notes, slivers of melted butter, brioche and agave nectar. Soft hints of rose petals and lychee, a slightly grassy note. Sweet and rounded, with apple juice, kiwi, lemon candy, mentholated hints, subtle floral notes (fresh laundry and elderflower) and lemongrass.
Palate
Slightly buttery. Notes of dark caramel, Acacia honey and a pinch of pepper, a touch of resin. Whisper of grapefruit and icing sugar, sultanas and tangerines. Honeyed and spicy, with sweet caramel, white pepper, apples, tangerines and mirabelles. Elderflower, light grassy notes, ginger and a touch of resin. More lemon candy, light caramel and shortbread, even a slightly tropical touch.
Finish
Medium length. Layers of citrus notes continue to unfold, with a hint of lawn clipping. Gentle mineral hints, fudge and hints of hazelnut cream, as well as jammy apricots. Lemony and waxy, with some green, leafy hints.
