I like the balance described here: raisins and subtle treacle sweetness on the nose, followed by dried fruit and a rich texture on the palate. The spices stay in the background rather than taking over, giving the sweetness and fruitiness room to lead. That restrained contrast appeals to me. It sounds rounded and fruit-led, though it may be less appealing to someone looking for a strongly spice-led whisky.

The Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead is a useful detail here, and the notes give it a clear connection to dried fruit and sweetness. That sounds appealing to me, though the background spice should keep it from feeling one-note.
