Description

Scott's Selection was an independent bottler, with casks selected by Robert Scott, a former master blender at Speyside Distillers Company. This Littlemill 1984 bottling was distilled in 1984 and bottled in 2004, making it a 20-year-old expression. Littlemill, a Lowland distillery established in 1772, had a tumultuous history, closing permanently in 1994 and its buildings destroyed by fire in 1996. This particular release was bottled at cask strength of 62.1% ABV and was intended for the US market.

Nose
Deliciously fruity with overripe pears, apricots, pineapple, papaya, lemons, green apples, and tropical fruits. Also features freshly cut grass, light floral notes, vanilla sugar, banana candies, coconut shavings, crystallized ginger, pomelo, dragonfruit, and floral tea with wild honey.
Palate
Tropical fruits like passion fruit, papaya, unripe pears, pink grapefruit, peach, and apricots. Creamy vanilla, a tiny oak note in the background, and a slight peppery kick due to high ABV. Floral and earthy notes, various floral teas with honey (chamomile, rose, jasmine, butterfly pea), herbal funk, steamed lotus root, and pastry richness.
Finish
Long with plenty of tropical fruit, Acacia honey, vanilla, minerals, and a pink grapefruit bitter edge. Initially drying and short, evolving to include berry jam, persimmon, herbaceous sharpness, tart fruit, and rosehip tea.
