Loch Lomond 12 Year Old Inchmoan is a peated single malt from the Loch Lomond distillery's Islands Collection. Named after Inchmoan, one of the islands in Loch Lomond, which means 'peat island' in Gaelic, this expression is crafted to reflect a sweet and mellow style of peated whisky. It is matured for 12 years in a combination of ex-bourbon, re-fill, and re-charred American oak casks. Bottled at 46% ABV and non-chill filtered, it offers a unique character combining smoke and spiciness.

Nose
Dry, smouldering peat smoke with vanilla syrup and cracked black pepper. Floral, sweet, and smoky with rich, dark caramel, dried apple, heather honey, soft pear. Hints of ashy, candied lime, toasted almond, and a vegetal note of green capsicum and grilled asparagus. Sweet vanilla sugar, toffee, peachy, and floral dried jasmine.
Palate
Sweet, medicinal peat and smoked bacon leading to roasted coffee bean with spice notes of clove and star anise. Warming spiciness combines with green apple and pear. A soft, meaty barbecue style of smoke, peppery oak, and cinnamon spice with toffee and stewed apple and pear. Dark malt, rich stewed fruit, and a subtle herbal peat.
Finish
Long, waxy peat with citrus hop note and gooseberry. Drying, woody, and ashy with lingering peat smoke, toasted oak, and a touch of dark chocolate bitterness. Sweet fruit, green grass, black pepper, and a hint of citrus. Long, salty, and spicy with lingering dry peat, sweet malt, and charred oak.
