Description

Lochlea Our Barley is the core single malt expression from Lochlea Distillery, located on a working farm in South Ayrshire, Scotland. The distillery began producing spirit in 2018, and the barley used is grown on the farm itself. This expression is matured in a combination of first-fill Bourbon barrels, Oloroso Sherry butts, and STR (Shaved, Toasted, Re-charred) barriques. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and with no added coloring. The distillery is steeped in history, being the farm where Robert Burns lived and worked from 1777-1784. John Campbell, former Laphroaig distillery manager, oversees the production as Production Director and Master Blender.
