Description

Lochlea Overtone Over & Stout is the second and final UK exclusive collaboration with Glasgow-based Overtone Brewery. This limited edition single malt is a marriage of five casks: three stout-seasoned (two Bourbon barrels, one STR barrique), one first-fill Bourbon barrel, and one ex-peated Bourbon barrel. It is non-chill filtered and natural in colour, bottled at 52% ABV. This release has been matured for an extra 12 months compared to its predecessor, deepening the stout's earthy, chocolatey character while enhancing sweet vanilla and gentle smoke.

Rich notes of sweet, stouty beer, light smoke, and oak, with pear drops, dried stone fruits, crisp green apples, fruit cocktail, vanilla, fresh bread dough, baking spices, toasted oak, cocoa powder, roasted barley, malt loaf, and coffee crema.
Palate
Soft and malty, with shortbread biscuits, toffee, honeycomb, orchard fruits, dark chocolate, espresso coffee, black treacle, a subtle hint of smoke, creamy vanilla, cinder toffee, and BBQ smoke.
Finish
Medium-long and gently drying, with roasted nuts, cocoa nibs, a lingering flicker of sweet malt, warming spice, green oak notes, rye bread, and cereals.
