Description

This Longmorn 2012 12 Year Old is from a private cask (#929) bottled by Whiskybroker under the Lhanmorgund label. It was distilled in April 2012 and bottled on April 30, 2024, after 12 years of maturation in a first-fill ex-Bourbon barrel. This bottling is the seventh and final cask in which the author of the source was involved, and it yielded 233 bottles. The name 'Lhanmorgund' was chosen as a Gaelic name derived from Longmorn, as the bottlers were unsure about using the Longmorn name directly. It is presented at cask strength of 56.6% ABV and is un-chillfiltered.

Typical Longmorn, loads of fruit (apples, pears, ripe banana), nice maltiness, apple pie and custard, lovely hint of spices, fresh pineapple, lemon, touch of biscuit.
Palate
Very drinkable at Cask Strength, lots of fruit and spices, silky smooth, a bit of a bite, cask spices, shortbread biscuit, spiced fruits, lemon and honey, fruits explode over the tongue.
Finish
Long, spicy, lemony, peppery, expands with water.
