Description

An exceptional bottling of Longmorn's characteristically fruity single malt matured for at least 30 years in a combination of hogsheads and American oak barrels. At this advanced age, the fresh fruits we tend to find in younger expressions of Longmorn have become beautifully concentrated, forming an indulgent palate of dried apples and apricots, maraschino cherries, prunes and raspberry preserves. This is an annual, non-chill filtered, cask strength release, representing the distillery's oldest expression to date.

Nose
Rich caramel, set honey, homemade raspberry jam, and dark cherries giving way to ripe plums, toasted oak and freshly ground nutmeg. Fruity and floral with waves of orchard fruit including ripe pears, honeycrisp apples, sliced apricots, and a tiny undercurrent of lavender. Fruit syrup gets more pronounced with holiday spice and a touch of dried, cured oak.
Palate
Rich toffee, treacle cake, roasted walnuts and dark fudge complemented by spiced red apples, dried apricots and cinnamon spice. Sweet and cooling with fresh mint sprigs and honey syrup, akin to dark praline with a backbone of toasted nuts. Sweetness builds to creamy, condensed milk caramel, punctuated by papaya and canned, sliced pineapple.
Finish
Long, balanced, and layered, leaving a satisfying, lingering complexity with subtle, enduring spice notes. Moderate length, dipping into cigar and pipe tobacco while maintaining some residual fruit and vanilla meringue.
