Nose
Peaches and raspberries, Sauternes and Alsatian vendanges tardives, perfect dates, softest curry powder. Sweet wine, hints of toast/vanilla, raisin sourness. Chocolate, butter, wafers, nuts, and biscuit. Distinctive cherry quality, lots of dried fruit, prunes, dates, raisin, with a freshness.
Palate
Fresh and fruity, polished but never oaky, many dried fruits including figs, pears, dates, raisins, orange zests and apples. Full bodied, strong honey-like sweetness found in french cakes and pies, old steamed wet lotus leaves, expresso coffee-like. Juicier, more depth, more roundness, fantastic weight and fruitiness.
Finish
Long, creamy, with more honey and spices and a feeling of 'mulled wine' in the aftertaste. Cloves and a little mint. Short, sweet, numbing at 43% abv. Licoricey character.
