Description

A Speyside malt distillery with important connections to a number of blended Scotch brands. Today it is part of the Chivas Brothers division of Pernod Ricard who, despite its needing much of its stock for the likes of Chivas Regal and Ballantine's, also market its single malt.

Rich sherried notes of dried dates, figs, toasted nuts, brown sugar, polished oak, dark chocolate, espresso, molasses, and a hint of burnt rubber.
Palate
Heavy and syrupy mouthfeel with sherried fruit, vanilla fudge, chocolate, mocha, raisins, sultanas, plums, new leather, burnt caramel, and a smidge of engine oil.
Finish
Lingering dried fruits, Turkish delight, bitter cocoa, dark toffee, and a tannic astringency.
