Description

For a period, Campbeltown was the undisputed Whisky Capital of World, boasting over 30 distilleries operating simultaneously at its peak. Locally available peat, barley and coal, coupled with a quick steamship service to Glasgow meant this thriving industry lasted into the early 20th Century. Alas; ultimately (and perhaps inevitably) it proved unsustainable, and by 1935 the bubble had well and tru ... This Longrow CV is a special bottling from the Springbank distillery, made up of whiskies aged between 6 and 14 years, matured in sherry, port, bourbon and rum casks. It was first released in 2008 and was discontinued around 2012-2014.

Maltiply Tasting Profile
Nose
Fruity, smoky, and mineral, with notes of citrus, ash, and earthy embers. Hints of vanilla custard, spearmint, and grass, alongside ripe pear and baked apple.
Palate
An excellent translation from the nose, with added sweetness. Flavors of limes, grapefruit, and berries, alongside drying, sharp, tangy, and earthy peat. Spicy notes, lemon zest, toffee, and oily smoke, with hints of smoked malt, dark chocolate, and citrus. Also, salty, with touches of olive oil, tobacco smoke, and sweet oak.
Finish
Medium to long, with zesty citrus, lingering drying smoke, and light sappy wood. Warming and subtly spicy, with notes of ash and a refreshing quality.
