Description

The Macallan 1983 18 Year Old is a rare expression distilled in 1983 and bottled in 2001. It was matured exclusively in sherry oak casks from Jerez, Spain. This vintage release is highly regarded and has become very collectible. Macallan is a crown jewel of the Edrington Group and one of the best-known names in single malt Scotch, famous for its legendary whiskies.

Classic sherry maturation with chocolate, lots of raisins, dry fruit, prunes, vanilla, smoked bacon, and old cognac notes. Satisfying and charming aromas.
Palate
Rich with prunes, raisins, oranges, chocolate. Sweet, very smooth, with a bit of oak. Extremely rich and very balanced in flavour.
Finish
Long aftertaste on chocolate and soft spices (cloves), getting drier with more wood influence. Perfect, long lasting finish.
