Description

Released in 2016, this is the second of the Macallan Editions and was a collaboration between Bob Dalgarno, Macallan's Master Whisky Maker, and the three Roca brothers who run the world-famous El Celler de Can Roca restaurant. The liquid has been matured in seven exceptional oak cask types from four different bodegas, combining flavors to reflect each of the collaborators' distinctive personalities.

Nose
Treacle, ginger, toffee apples and rich fruits. Layers of vanilla open into tropical fruits and subtle green wood, with notes of caramel, liquorice, dried fruits, green coffee beans, apple peel, and oaky vanilla.
Palate
Warm with spice as cracked black pepper and cloves join with hints of chocolate, brown sugar, oak and nuts. Liquorice and brandy snaps come through, along with ginger, raisins, and citrus.
Finish
Full, slow, warm and wonderfully viscous. Lingering and long, with notes of ginger cake, raisin rolls, lemon, nutty, charred oak, tannic, and green wood.
