Description

The Macallan 72 Years Old in Lalique – The Genesis Decanter is an exceptionally rare single malt Scotch whisky, released in 2018 to commemorate the opening of the new Macallan Distillery. It is the oldest official bottling from Macallan to date, distilled in the 1940s during the post-Second World War period. This limited edition expression is presented in a bespoke Lalique crystal decanter and a handcrafted wooden presentation case, reflecting the architectural design of the new distillery. Only 600 decanters were released worldwide.

Delicate peat smoke combines with a soft vanilla, and a surprising sweet oak smoke. A gentle wood spice combines with a delicate peat smoke, which gradually fades to leave a viscous mouth coating of citrus fruits and subtle green apples.
Finish
Medium and fruity, with a sweet oaky mouth feel and a lingering hint of rich fruit and oak.
