Description

Launched in 2010, this was originally the premium offering from the Macallan travel retail 1824 Collection. The travel retail bottles were replaced with the Quest Collection in 2017, but the Oscuro was retained. This version of the product was sold between 2010 and 2015 when its packaging was given a redesign. Crown jewel of the Edrington Group and one of the best-known names in single malt Scotch. It is crafted from a combination of rare whiskies distilled between 1987 and 1997, drawn exclusively from sherry-seasoned oak casks, with an exceptionally high proportion of first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at 46.5% ABV.

Full and lingering, warming, hints of soft smoke, intensely dark malt, dried fruits, subtle hint of smokiness, oak tannins, slightly herbaceous and tannin sherry note, long, dry and tannic, notes of coffee, sweet cherries, cinnamon spiciness.
