Description

That Boutique-Y Whisky Company bottles Scotch single malt and grain whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with humorous puns presented in cultish comic-book style labels: the purpose is to tell the histories and stories of distilleries or prominent figures in the industry but in a new exciting way. This is a 26-year-old Macallan, Batch #10, bottled at 48.7% ABV.

Nose
A thick, sweet and resinous opening begins with fresh apple blossom, pink grapefruit and golden syrup. A defined floral note perfumes decadent vanilla cream and aromatic ginger spice, while varnished oak and warm butterscotch fill out the backdrop. Homemade lemonade and lemongrass are joined by apple crumble, red grapes and sharp orange juice. There's an underlying maltiness, as well as some crystalline ginger and a light salty breeze.
Palate
A medium-bodied and firm palate brings sour apple sweets, dry oak spices and barley sugar. A litter of complex notes breathe through rancio, including thyme honey, chocolate orange, green tea and hot copper pans. A little sour cherry and beaten leather lace the vanilla-coated backdrop. Well-spiced orange segments, barley water, toffee apples and some delicate pastry notes merge well with increased cask influence – ginger and pepperiness.
Finish
A juicy finish with good length and a solid oaked note. Medium in length and favouring oranges with ginger.
