Nose
Past an initial flurry of dusty oak and leather there's ripe peaches, red apples and a refined malt note. Thick-cut marmalade smeared on fluffy white bloomer bread, barley sugar and salted caramel develop among supple wood tannins and just a flash of red chilli heat.
Palate
Vanilla and dark honey drench more juicy apples and slightly astringent oak. Drying spice, ginger and clove mostly, rich earth and blackberry compote notes develop. A lick of liquorice is present underneath.
Finish
Long and gentle. Subtle oak spice prickles through delicate golden barley sweetness.
