Maltiply Tasting Profile
Nose
Round and warming with dark mature berries and fruits like cherries, strawberries and plums. A creamy, almost buttery, vanilla with a hint of saltiness. Deep down in the glass you find a hint of citrus, coffee beans and sandel wood.
Palate
An oily and soft mouthfeel where the vanilla and red berries, mostly cherries, dominate. Other sweet notes of dark chocolate and raisins appear, as does mild oriental spices.
Finish
In the long finish, the red wine character dominates with notes of cherry, plums and dried fruit. A slight peppery note can also be found, as well as sweet chocolate, moving towards milk chocolate.

The lightly peated style sounds restrained, while cherry, plum and creamy vanilla take the clearer lead in the documented character. That wine-and-fruit combination sounds appealing; the smoke needn’t run the whole show.

Cherry and plum are the clearest thread here, joined by strawberry and darker berries, then returning with dried fruit in the finish. That red-wine character gives the sweet vanilla and chocolate a useful counterpoint, while mild spices and a peppery edge add a little lift. Citrus and coffee appear beneath the fruit on the nose. The overall impression is rounded and fruit-led, with sweetness prominent. That balance sounds appealing to me.
