Mackmyra Special 02 Mackmyra is a Swedish single malt whisky distillery, named after the village and manor of the same name, where the company was first established in 1999. The first spirit was distilled in 2002, and their first release, Preludium 01 was launched in 2006, selling out in just 20 minutes. Floral honey, fresh pears, blood oranges, tart white grapes, lemon curd, vanilla, oak, conifer, faint wood smoke, ginger, roasted ice-cream wafers, sandalwood, musk, tar, acid ginger caramels, ripe banana, soft honey notes.
Palate
Sweet and creamy, vanilla custard tart, ripe citrus, barley sugar, peppery, tart, dry oaky tannins, grassy, savouriness, sweet fruity notes (apple, pear), spicy oak, light tar, buttery, soft and dry mouthfeel, sweetened ashes.
Finish
Ashy and smoky, dried herbs, sweet liquorice, honey roasted nuts, oak, medium long and bittersweet, peppery, camphor, burnt notes (caramel with a perfume-like edge).
