Description

Celebrating the beauty of long aged whisky, this Scottish blend brings together malt from across Scotland. This whisky enjoyed 25 years aging in a premium first-fill sherry butt. Cask eight comes with an illustration by artist Jim Moir, it depicts the Guillemot, a bird native to the Shetland Islands. The Maiden's Blend series from Vintage Bottlers are sourced from former Edrington blending stock, originally put into cask in 1999. The blend includes whiskies from Macallan, Glenturret, Highland Park and North British.

Nose
Hints of Demerara sugar, chocolate truffles and pralines, a slight mineral touch, marmalade and tangerines. Mild chocolate and dark nougat, brown sugar and cinnamon cookies, toasted hazelnuts and grains, subtle mint and orange peels.
Palate
Creamy mouthfeel, sweetness like fudge, crème caramel and sponge, gentle dryness, cloves, bung cloth and tobacco, oak char, smoked barley husks. Drier side, toffee and vanilla, light tobacco and black pepper, mature with old grain whisky notes (citrusy, thinner), leather and a very subtle smoky edge.
Finish
Medium to long with coffee liqueur, oranges and nutmeg. More oranges, tobacco notes and mild oak spice.
