Description

Here is a wild combination of casks from a member favorite. Starting with 12-year-old hogsheads, one was transferred to Spanish oak Oloroso while the other was transferred to a red wine barrique. The result is a wondrous display of dunnage, fruit liqueurs, and variations of orange, from fresh juice to burnt peels. A more daring and decadent foray into the “Two to One” ultra-small batch program.

Nose
Candied fennel seeds, burnt raisins, hickory chips and the petrolic heft of Alsacian riesling. Freshly squeezed orange juice and bouquet garni. Orange travel sweets, peaches poached in sweet riesling and cider apples getting funky in a cellar. Camphor, dunnage and beeswax.
Palate
Surprising and restrained peat note, along with dark ales, malty richness, toffee apple and hints of cranberry and sloe gravy. Subtle and earthy old-school sherry vibe, along with cherry liqueur, crushed nettle, triple sec, burnt orange peel and more crystallised orange.
Finish
Lingering notes of cherry liqueur, crushed nettle, triple sec, burnt orange peel and crystallised orange with a subtle earthy sherry and peat influence.
