Dried apricot brings welcome fruit.

The Oloroso sherry cask detail gives this a clear point of interest, alongside sherried oak, dried apricots and molasses. The dry, warming finish sounds like a nice counterpoint.

This reads as a rich, sherry-led Speyside, with fig jam, dark chocolate and red currant setting up the dried apricot and molasses on the palate. Black pepper gives that sweeter core a welcome edge, then the long, dry, warming finish carries it into cinnamon and nutmeg. I like that balance of dark fruit and spice: generous in character, but not simply sweet. It sounds like a focused, satisfying choice for anyone drawn to sherried malt.

Big sherry warmth, more dusk than fresh.
