The Mars Komagatake Chichibu Malt Duo 2021 is a limited-edition blended malt whisky resulting from a unique collaboration between Honbo Shuzo's Mars Shinshu Distillery and Chichibu Distillery. This pioneering Japanese whisky exchange program, initiated in 2015, involved the maturation of malts from both distilleries at Mars Shinshu. Bottled in 2021, this non-chill filtered whisky offers a complex flavor profile.

Aromas of sweet maple syrup, plum, and pear, with notes of orange zest, pine forest, and a touch of varnish. Also, apple, grassiness, herbal notes, milk chocolate, toasted oak, and chocolate.
Palate
Full-bodied and complex with flavors of caramel, brandy cake, dark chocolate, and baking spices, balanced by a hint of smoke and some spiciness. Green apples, melon, chewy caramel, youthful nuttiness, vanilla, salty, and peaty.
Finish
A long, gently tannic finish with notes of black tea, brown sugar, and orange peel. Medium length with sweet maple/caramel notes becoming spiced, subtle chili, and slight oak tannins. Lingering notes of caramel and a subtle earthiness.
