The Mars Komagatake Double Cellars 2018 is a rare Japanese single malt crafted at the Mars Shinshu Distillery, combining whisky matured in two distinct cellars for unmatched complexity. This limited-edition release features a subtle peated influence and vibrant fruit-forward character, creating a unique balance of floral, citrus, and oak notes. It is a vatting of whiskies that were matured in both the Mars Shinshu Distillery and the Mars Tsunuki Distillery, in ex-Bourbon barrels and virgin American White Oak casks. Bottled in 2018, this expression offers fruity aromas of apricot and plum, with soft, sweet flavors reminiscent of vanilla and honey.

Honey, treacle, dried pears, apricot jam, Brandy, ginger ale, orange peel, earthy peat, lemon cough drops, charred twigs. Sweet orchard fruits, polished oak, and hints of floral honey. Subtle smoke and spice notes provide complexity.
Palate
Creamy malt and citrus peel lead into caramelised nuts, white chocolate, and gentle peppery warmth. Some nice spiciness mostly nutmeg, salt and pepper. Cocoa, vanilla, almond flakes, butter, lemon meringue, earthy peat, coconut water.
Finish
Lingering citrus zest, toasted nuts, and a light smoky undertone. Nutmeg, almond flakes, lingering cashew nuts.
