Description

This Mars Komagatake release is a limited edition from Japanese distillers Mars, celebrating the Monarch Butterfly and featuring the winner of the Miyada Village Monarch Butterfly Photo Contest 2023 on the box and bottle label. It is a single malt whisky crafted at the Mars Shinshu distillery, located in Miyata village at the foot of the Komagatake Alps in Japan's Nagano prefecture. The whisky was matured in a blend of bourbon barrels, sherry casks, and port casks.

Finish
Medium length, enduring and meditative, with cool mint, caramel, sweet liquorice, smooth tannins, light leathery note, black tea, dry oakiness, subtle aromatic smoke, and lingering fruity aspects like red apple sauce and orange peel.
