Mars Yakushima Japanese Spring is a blended malt Japanese whisky produced by Hombo Shuzo Co., Ltd. It combines malt spirits distilled at Mars' Komagatake and Tsunuki distilleries, then aged primarily in bourbon casks on the tropical island of Yakushima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its humid climate and sea breezes. This limited edition is part of the 'Japanese Spring' collection, celebrating the cherry blossoms across Japan and showcasing Mars' three aging sites. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at 49% ABV.

Nose
Notes of exotic fruits with grilled pineapple or ripe banana. Iodized, almost saline fragrances combine perfectly with the sweetness of mango. Hints of citrus and delicate white flowers add complexity. Fresh cherry blossoms, and a maritime-salty breeze.
Palate
A frank start with juicy fruit, which makes us appreciate the tropical ageing of this whisky like a rum. Sweet vanilla malt notes and rich caramelized fruit round out the structure. The saline, finely peated profile offers remarkable persistence on the palate. Hints of honey, dark chocolate, and fine smoke.
Finish
A long-lasting, warm-hearted finish that beautifully recalls the complexity of this whisky. A velvety, finely woody, perfectly balanced finish transports us to the mystical, mist-filled forests of Yakushima. Persistent and balanced with a subtle spiciness and fine wood tones.
