Description

This is a 7-year-old Straight Rye Whiskey, distilled at MGP in Indiana from a mashbill of 51% rye, 45% corn, and 4% malted barley. It was bottled by Subtle Spirits from Barrel No. 30 at 114 proof (57% ABV). This single barrel release produced 180 bottles and was gravity fed and bottled by hand with no filtration.

Nose
Ethereal and sweet aromas of fresh fruits like apricots and crushed sauvignon blanc grapes, bubble gum, and taffy along with a bouquet of herbs like mint, marjoram, and tarragon. Supported by baking spice aromas of allspice, mace, and vanilla bean. Undertones of toffee and slightly charred oak complement nicely. Vivacious, lively, and very melodic.

Crisp and bright with loads of spices but not the alcohol heat you'd expect.

Rich, mouth-coating texture that finishes with a pleasing spice profile that really sustains and leaves you wanting more.
