Description

A pioneering French whisky company established by the Belgian winemaker , Michel Couvreur. Founded in 1988, its whiskies are distilled in Scotland before being shipped in cask to age in specially selected wine casks at the company's cellar in Burgundy. [cite: Whisky Auctioneer] Michel Couvreur, originally from Belgium, moved to Burgundy, France, in the 1960s, where he started aging whisky, combining tradition with innovation. Couvreur believed that the cask contributes as much as 90% to a whisky's overall quality. The whiskies are vatted from over 50 different malts and matured primarily in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
