Michter's Barrel Strength Kentucky Straight Rye is a limited, overproof, straight-from-the-barrel version of Michter's US*1 Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey. Each individual barrel is tasted and evaluated, and bottled at its particular strength. The rye distillate is entered into new American white oak barrels at a lower 103 proof, rather than a higher industry standard, which Michter's believes yields a richer, smoother, more full-bodied whiskey after proper maturation.
