This Michter's US*1 Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a 2018 release, bottled at 45.7% ABV (91.4 proof). It is made from a carefully selected mashbill featuring high-quality American corn and matured to perfection in fire-charred, new American white oak barrels. Each batch, such as batch 18E718, is truly 'small batch,' batched in a holding tank sized to fit a maximum of twenty full barrels.

Nose
Rich caramel and vanilla dominate, with hints of toasted oak, light spices, dried fruits (apricots, raisins), and a faint whisper of corn sweetness. Baked goods, cinnamon, apples, brown butter, nutty dough, and cracked pepper notes are also present.
Palate
Smooth and well-balanced with a medium body. Flavors of butterscotch, honey, caramel candies, and vanilla cream are complemented by warm cinnamon, nutmeg, and a bit of rye spice. Toasted nuts, dark chocolate, toasted citrus zest, candied apple, and stone fruit notes are also present.
Finish
Medium to long, with a pleasant warmth. Notes of toasted orange zest, cinnamon, clove, and rye spice linger. Intense caramel, warming oak spiciness, toasted oak tannins, raisins, plums, and a subtle earthy quality are also present.
