Description

The Milk & Honey whisky distillery is the first of its kind in Israel, situated in Tel Aviv, a city that acts as the hub of the country's culinary and drinking scene thanks to its outdoor markets and fantastic bars and eateries. The company took inspiration from Israel's craft beer scene which became popular in the early 2000s and the first spirit distillation occurred in 2015. Due to the hot climate in Israel, the whisky matures far quicker than an equivalent cask in Scotland, resulting in accelerated maturity and well-developed flavors.

Nose
The initial nose gives loads of spiceiness, very punchy with a good waft of alcohol. Other notes include cola, baked fruit, caramel with rich butter noisette and brown sugar, autumnal red apples, sherried fruits, macerated berries, oak, wood spice, Vimto, old style thick-cut orange marmalade, fruit salad sweets, honey coated peanuts, mint, sour cherry juice, and freshly baked pain aux raisin.
Palate
Quite fruity with hints of strawberries, stoned fruits, spicy nutmeg and cloves. Other notes include dark chocolate, kola cubes, shortbread, blackcurrant, cherries, plums, dark fruit and nut chocolate, caramel, molasses, cola, mint, and short crust pastry with an oak-dryness.
Finish
Medium to long finish with dark fruits fading through warm spice into red apples and oak. Other notes include tobacco, redcurrant jelly, nutmeg, liquidised pain aux raisin, and mint.
