Description

This is a 12-year-old Blended Scotch Whisky produced by J & A Mitchell & Co. Ltd., owners of Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. It is created from malts from the Campbeltown whisky region and grains from other parts of Scotland, with a higher than usual malt content (40% malt to 60% grain). The malt component largely comes from the Mitchell family distilleries, Springbank and Glengyle, and includes some of Springbank's peated malt, Longrow, to add complexity. This bottling style is believed to date from the 1990s.

Bright citrusy note, light cereal sweetness, yeasty baking notes, freshly cut hay, under-ripe peaches, initial burst of peat smoke, lemon, fondant, orange barley sweets, warm sugary porridge.
Palate
Spicy and delicious, sweet toffee thickness, cereal note, fresh and succulent peach flavor, lively, cracked black pepper, throat sweets, golden syrup, wrapped in a blanket of smoke.
Finish
Short and sweet, slight barrel-char, peppery heat, lemon sherbet sweetness, decent length, nuttiness, appley fruit notes, unfortunate hint of wet cardboard aftertaste.
