Description

This Miyagikyo Single Malt is a limited edition released in 2020 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the marriage of Nikka founder Masataka Taketsuru and Rita Cowan. It has been finished in apple brandy casks, a nod to Nikka's early business activities which included apple juice and brandy production.

Nose
Full and rich on the glass, fresh apple and juicy pear aromas. A hint of vanilla and cinnamon, then a fine oaky note that grows warmer. Then, another wave of fruit carries away scents of banana and juicy peach.
Palate
The first attack is elegant and silky. This whisky fully expresses a fruity character, with notes of apple, pear and apricot. With some subtlety, a lightly peaty flavour appears along with a well-balanced note of wood, chocolate and honey.
Finish
Clean and complex finish with flavours of white fruit such as pears, which create an excellent contrast with the notes of toasted bread. A hint of well-balanced liquorice and vanilla notes at the end.
