The sherry aromas, malty undertones and fresh citrus suggest a thoughtful balance between fruit and grain, while the palate moves toward baked apple, raisin and charred oak. The 46% ABV is a useful point of context for this 15-year-old single malt, without making strength a substitute for character. Warm spice, dried fruit and toffee carry through the medium-to-long finish; the worn-leather note adds a slightly more savoury edge. A composed, appealing direction, though the oak and spice may lead the fruit.
Sherry-led fruit is balanced by fresh citrus and orange zest, while baking spice and charred oak give the character more weight. This sounds richer in fruit than the coastal notes I tend to prefer, but the contrast feels appealing.
