Description

New Riff Distilling's core Bourbon expression is a high-rye, full-bodied whiskey, aged for four years in 53-gallon new, charred American oak barrels. It features a mash bill of 65% corn, 30% rye, and 5% malted barley. All New Riff whiskeys are made with the full sour mash Kentucky Regimen and are always bottled without chill filtration. This single barrel release offers a unique character, as each barrel is tasted and approved by a production panel.

Nose
Butterscotch, fresh oak, vanilla, and rye spice, with hints of caramel, cinnamon, apple, dried nuts, and subtle baking scents like fresh baked bread and brown sugar.
Palate
A broad and fulsome mouthfeel, leading to a sweeter vanilla accent, followed by a gathering of rye spices such as clove, cinnamon, mint, and dark berry. Notes of brambles, cherry, black tea, honey, and roasted graham cracker may also be present.
Finish
Long and rye-led, with brambly red-black fruits, white pepper, and clove. It can be dry and spicy, with lingering notes of cinnamon red hots candy, dark chocolate, and a lightly herbal sweetness with honey, licorice, fennel, dried citrus, oak tannins, and pine.
