Description

The Nikka whisky company was founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, with the creation of his Yoichi distillery on the island of Hokkaido. Deep and complex, sherried sweetness, caramelized nuts, leather, cinnamon, smoky oak, balance of peat and dried fruit, punchy, savoury, leathery, walnuts, roasted pecans, deep earthy peat smoke, pepper, liquorice, anise, dark chocolate, silky, honeyed, graphite, light ash, rancio, sour fruit.
Finish
Long, warming, luxurious, lingering smoke, spiced oak, dark cocoa, touch of salty brine, smoky and chocolaty with traces of dry oak, residual sweetness, graphite, lemon.
