Nose
Fine, distinguished, with herbaceous, salty, and empyreumatic peat dominating, followed by fruits (apple, pear, Canary melon), flowers (lily, carnation), mint, milky notes (cream, coconut), exotic fruits (pineapple, yellow kiwi), and medicinal hints (ointment, Arnica).
Palate
Firm and lively, echoing herbaceous, salty, and empyreumatic notes with a field of barley swept with sea spray. Earthy, rooted mid-palate with blocks of peat, floral (tulip, cyclamen) and fruity (Mirabelle plum, greengage plum) notes, also rustic and marine.
Finish
Long, crisp, with white grapes, plum, and pulp providing smoothness. Retro-nasal olfaction reveals evanescent peat and a fine layer of liquorice, with wisps of translucent smoke from the empty glass.
