Nose
Fresh, brightly acidic orchard fruits and fruity peat. Mellow peat and salty notes, with candied citrus fruit (lemon, orange), black liquorice, spices (nutmeg, ginger), roots, dried twig, and floral notes. Wood smoke, black pepper, moss, cedar, barley, chocolate, and candied oranges are also present.
Palate
Stronger peat and oak, with petrichor and a gentle, delicate, perfumed peat. Rich with kumquat, pineapple, pears, citrus (yuzu, satsuma oranges, lemon zest), green apple, and malt notes. Sweet, spicy, and fruity, with chocolate, almonds, vanilla, light salt, and mild granary notes. A heavy worm tub whisky texture is noted.
Finish
Sweet and gentle peat, with pears, white plums, and a hint of umeboshi tartness. Medium to long, silky, with ripe fruit (pear, Mirabelle plum, apple), herbaceous and malty flavours, coastal freshness, and spicy (coriander, dill) and earthy (leather, chestnuts) notes. Hints of acetone, chocolate dust, orange peels, bergamot, kumquats, and Madeira are also found.
