- Nose
- Immediate rich red fruit quality sherry notes with Oban's core orange peel, honey, and brine character. Raspberry, cherry, orange peel, brine, raisin, oxidized grape, oloroso funk, tamarind, vanilla, cocoa nib and spice notes. Also green apple, fresh leaves, cut grass, caramel, Scottish tablet, red apple skin, cookie dough, lemon zest, grainy cereals and oaky aromas.
- Palate
- Richer than nose suggests, robust with gripping malt and bittersweet cereals. Sweet and juicy notes reminiscent of fresh apple juice, melon, squeezed lemon. Crisp green apple, peardrop sweets, freshly mown grass, yeast, milk chocolate, sugary Scottish tablet and warm biscuits. Warming woody spice and burnt oranges. Creamy-smooth texture, sweet overall with a trace of salt in mid-palate.
- Finish
- Very good length and intensity, with honey comb, currants, black tea and baking spices. Long and spicy, with a shake of white pepper. Lightly drying, peppery heat of the spice still clear. Sweeter characteristics slowly fade to reveal biscuity malt and peppery gingery spices. Hint of salt adds to freshness.
