Description

Octomore 02.2 Orpheus is a 5-year-old single malt from Bruichladdich, heavily peated to 140ppm. It was matured in bourbon casks before a finish in red wine oak casks from Château Pétrus in Bordeaux. This limited edition was bottled in 2009 as part of the Octomore Editions series.

Palate
Thick texture with loads of red fruit (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, plums), intense campfire smoke, hardwood charcoal, black pepper, briny black olives, sweet malt, and milk chocolate.
Finish
Fairly long with grilled red peppers, toasted sesame seeds, olive oil, blueberries, black olives, prunes, burning cedar boughs, ash, sweet red fruit, eucalyptus, and peach jam.
