Nose
A dense plume of peat smoke swathes warm barley, with sea-salted brine and iodine. Sherry-cask fruits—raisin, fig, orange zest—coexist with cocoa, espresso and a touch of vanilla. Dry and pungent, with strong medicinal notes and scents of heather and lavender giving way to grilled seafood.
Palate
Coastal peat and smoked barley strike first, surprisingly elegant. Vanilla sweetness and citrus zest weave through the smoke, with peppery spice and mineral depth. Oily body erupts into a liquid bonfire with sweet wood smoke, Lapsang tea, meat charred over a campfire, earthy flavours, and a hint of briny seaweed.
Finish
Long, refined and saline, a powerful Islay that remains poised and approachable. Long, elegant finish of refined peat smoke, fused with sea-salt brine and a whisper of vanilla. The warmth lingers with oak and gentle spice, slowly fading into a subtle, sweet mineral glow. Warming spice with reminders of its peaty heart.
